NIBC advisor on MegaStores acquisition

Nieuws -

NIBC advised Meijer Realty Partners (MRP) and CQS on their acquisition of the MegaStores mall in The Hague, which they plan to develop into a popular shopping venue. The transaction was finalised in April after months of negotiations and will see the new owners breathe new life into the 85,000-square-meter retail space.

MegaStores is the Netherlands’ largest shopping mall and is situated to the south of the city, next to The Hague’s Holland Spoor train station, which serves international travellers to and from Brussels, as well as intercity commuters and local tram and bus users. MRP, an experienced Dutch commercial real estate investor, teamed up with London-based asset manager CQS to revive the mall. They have a clear vision to turn it into a thriving retail centre with a mix of shops and restaurants that will make it a lively addition to The Hague.

NIBC used its long standing relationship with ING Real Estate to liaise a deal with MRP who had been keen to acquire the MegaStores for quite some time.
