Karlsberg Brauerei awarded NIBC as MLA for the third time

FAR Germany acted as Mandated Lead Arranger in the financing of the new EUR 20m borrowing base facility for existing client Karlsberg Brauerei GmbH. The transaction is an excellent example that commitment, to offer to a client a solution at a decisive financial moment, leads to repeating business. NIBC stepped into the financing of Karlsberg in 2012 and built this long-term relationship based on its knowledge of the beer market. Moreover, it demonstrates NIBC’s capacity to execute tailor-made solutions. The borrowing base structure provides Karlsberg with additional flexibility regarding the financing of its working capital needs.

Karlsberg Brauerei is a mid-sized family-owned brewery that fits in NIBC’s client focus and provides numerous opportunities for an intense relationship. It was founded in 1878 by the Weber family and since then, developed into a leading producer of beer, beer-mixture beverages, non-alcoholic beer in Saarland and the western part of Rhineland Pfalz. It covers the entire value chain of the production process, including the development of new products, their production as well as their distribution. In recent years the brewery became famous with its different types of beer-mixtures, where it has a market leading position in Germany. The Company sells around 3m hectoliters of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks per annum.
